We started our collaboration with EcoVadis in 2020. At that time, the company already had its main technology hub in Warsaw and was continuing to expand its teams. From the beginning, we focused on recruiting experienced Software Engineers (.NET and JavaScript), and in the meantime, we also helped the client build a new Business Intelligence team.

Challenges: hiring IT specialists with high technical standards

One of the biggest challenges in the recruitment process was finding candidates who met the very high technical requirements.

EcoVadis is, above all, a technology company built on a commitment to the highest standards of User Experience. The development of the platform is based on creating intuitive, efficient, and easy-to-use tools, which requires the engineering team to have a deep understanding of user interaction with the system, application performance, and the way value is delivered to the customer.

Our solution: ensuring technical and cultural fit

Since many of our candidates were initially being rejected during technical interviews, we decided to create a list of additional questions to ask candidates. This allowed us to better assess their knowledge in relation to the client’s requirements.

We didn’t limit ourselves to just the must-haves listed in the job description. Nor did we stop at the nice-to-haves we found there.

By gathering additional insights from hiring managers and candidates after interviews, we compiled a list of extra skills that increased the chances of getting hired. Moreover, we got to know the company well enough to better evaluate cultural fit, which often played a significant role in the selection process.

Summary of recruitment results in 2021-2022

  • 40 recruitment projects completed over two years.
  • 212 CVs sent, demonstrating precise candidate targeting.
  • 159 job interviews, resulting in a high IV-to-CV ratio of 75% – the majority of candidates invited to interviews met the job requirements.
  • 27 job offers, 24 of which resulted in hires, achieving an 89% offer acceptance rate.
  • Average closed-project ratio: 68% – more than two-thirds of projects successfully completed.

Conclusion: recruitment success is based on understanding the company, not just the job description

Based on the statistics, it can be concluded that with each project, we better understood the client’s requirements. Through the effort of the entire team and the analysis of dozens of feedbacks, we were able to improve our screening process in order to recommend better-matched candidates, thus saving time both for us and for those involved in the recruitment process on the EcoVadis side.

Today, we continue to support EcoVadis in the development of Polish Software Development teams. After many conversations with both candidates and EcoVadis, we now understand how crucial it is to have a good understanding of the company’s expectations, not only those written in the job description.
