Schaeffler is a global company with German roots, renowned for manufacturing advanced components for the automotive and industrial sectors. In Poland, the company is rapidly expanding its internal IT capabilities – particularly in areas such as SAP (including S/4HANA), cloud-native technologies, DevOps, IT infrastructure, and solutions architecture.

Schaeffler sought an IT recruitment partner experienced in the manufacturing sector – one who could do more than just supply resumes, and instead understand the complexity and specifics of each technical recruitment. This was why they chose to collaborate with our IT recruitment agency, and we’ve been successfully running joint projects for several years now. Given the notable intensification of these activities in 2024, this case study highlights our accomplishments from this period.

Challenges in IT recruitment for the manufacturing industry

  • High technical demands – particularly in areas such as SAP HCM, PP, CO/PS, Archive, Authorization, as well as DevOps (Azure, Kubernetes), and Cloud Architecture. Candidates with these profiles are scarce and rarely actively looking for jobs.
  • Diverse recruitment needs – multiple recruitment processes were simultaneously run for different IT teams, each with varying approaches, requirements, and cultural expectations.
  • Low effectiveness of job advertisements – in-house recruitment activities (primarily via job boards) often failed to yield valuable applications. A headhunter approach and direct outreach to passive candidates became essential.

Our approach to IT recruitment in manufacturing companies

As a specialized IT recruitment agency serving technology and manufacturing firms, we proposed a tailored strategy:

  • Precise candidate targeting – rather than submitting numerous candidates “just in case,” we prioritized quality. On average, we delivered just 6 CVs per successful hire, achieving a 60% CV-to-interview conversion rate.
  • Profile iteration and analysis – after each feedback cycle, we continuously adjusted the ideal candidate profile to meet the evolving requirements of the teams.
  • Consulting and process support – we supported hiring managers not only in sourcing but also in organizing recruitment processes, decision-making, and finalizing offers.
  • Direct access to hiring managers – regular briefings with managers enabled us to better understand their needs and quickly deliver matching candidates.

Results: measurable effectiveness in IT recruitment

Outcomes of our cooperation in 2024:

  • 28 recruitment projects
  • 78 sourcing sprints
  • 116 submitted CVs → 23 offers → 21 hires
  • CV-to-interview ratio: 60%
  • Average: 6 CVs per successful hire
  • Offer acceptance rate: 75%
