We began our collaboration with EcoVadis in 2020. At that time, the company already had its main technology hub in Warsaw and continued expanding its teams. From the very beginning, we focused on sourcing experienced Software Engineers (.NET and JavaScript), and along the way, we also helped the client build a new Business Intelligence team.

Challenges: recruiting IT specialists with high technical requirements

One of the biggest challenges in the recruitment process was finding candidates who met very high technical requirements.

EcoVadis is, above all, a technology-driven company built on a commitment to delivering the highest User Experience standards. The development of their platform relies on creating intuitive, efficient, and easy-to-use tools – which requires the engineering team to have a deep understanding of user interactionapplication performance, and how to deliver value to the customer.

Our solutions: ensuring both technical and cultural fit

Since many of our candidates were initially being rejected during technical interviews, we decided to create a list of additional questions to better verify their knowledge in relation to the client’s requirements.

We didn’t limit ourselves only to the must-haves listed in the job description. Nor did we stop at the nice-to-haves mentioned there.

By gathering extra insights from hiring managers and from candidates after their interviews, we were able to compile a list of additional skills that significantly increased the chances of getting hired. Moreover, we had already come to understand the company well enough to better assess cultural fit – which also often played an important role in the selection process.

Summary of recruitment results in 2021–2022

  • 40 recruitment projects completed over two years.
  • 212 CVs submitted, demonstrating highly precise candidate targeting.
  • 159 interviews, resulting in a strong IV-to-CV ratio of 75% – meaning that most candidates invited to interviews met the role requirements.
  • 27 job offers, of which 24 resulted in hires – an 89% offer acceptance rate.
  • Average project closure ratio: 68% – meaning more than two-thirds of all recruitment projects were successfully completed.
  • Improved efficiency in 2022 – fewer projects, but higher effectiveness (82% of recruitments closed and 100% of offers accepted).

Conclusions: recruitment success is built on understanding the company – not just the job description

Based on the statistics, it’s clear that with each project we gained a deeper understanding of the client’s expectations. Through the combined effort of the entire team and the analysis of dozens of feedback notes, we improved our screening process to recommend better-matched candidates – saving time both for us and for everyone involved on the EcoVadis side.

Today, we continue to support EcoVadis in growing its Polish Software Development teams. After many conversations with both candidates and the client, we understand just how essential it is to truly grasp the company’s expectations — not only those listed in the job description.
