Duco was expanding its structures in Wrocław, strengthening both the product team and the operational backbone of the office. The key was not only to fill vacancies, but to build a foundation for further scaling – both cultural and technological.
The project covered two strategic roles:
- Office Manager responsible for the operational functioning of the office and building the local team culture,
- Senior Fullstack Developer to strengthen the core product team.
Both recruitments had a direct impact on the growth pace of the Wrocław hub and required precise competency matching to the current stage of the organization’s development. Equally important was maintaining alignment between the company culture and the candidate profiles, so that the new hires would genuinely support Duco’s long-term strategy.
Challenges: flexible IT recruitment in a product environment with evolving technological requirements
The project required running two entirely different processes in parallel (operational and technical) while maintaining high quality and pace. An additional challenge was the dynamic nature of the product environment, where competency requirements can shift during the recruitment process.
1. Office Manager – operational and cultural role
The role required combining administrative competencies with the ability to build atmosphere and engagement in a newly developing hub. The candidate needed to understand the dynamics of a tech environment and support the team during a growth phase.
2. Senior Fullstack Developer – evolving technical specification
During the recruitment process, the technological priorities shifted. Initially, the focus was on frontend competencies, however as the project evolved, backend skills became increasingly important.
This required:
- a flexible sourcing approach,
- a swift revision of the ideal candidate profile,
- ongoing, transparent communication with the Hiring Manager.
The most important thing was maintaining the quality of recommendations despite the change in technical direction, and quickly adapting the action strategy to the current needs of the team. It is precisely in such moments that the difference between standard process execution and strategic recruitment support becomes clear.
Which positions did we recruit for?
Software Engineer, Backend Developer, DevOps Engineer
Technologies required in the recruitment processes:
Java, Node.js, React, Typescript, AWS, CI/CD, Kubernetes
Our solution: strategic IT recruitment and precise sourcing tailored to the dynamics of the product team
From the start, we adopted a consultative rather than purely executive approach. Key was understanding Duco’s business context and flexibly adapting the recruitment strategy to the pace of hub development in Wrocław.
Precise sourcing and rapid quality validation
In the case of the Office Manager, we focused on quality rather than volume. Within the first week, we presented two outstanding candidates, perfectly matched to the organizational culture and the company’s stage of development.
Agility in technical recruitment
For the Fullstack Developer role:
- we conducted a targeted search within product environments,
- we flexibly adapted the technical profile to the evolving requirements,
- we shifted our focus to backend experience when the project direction changed,
- we maintained constant communication with the client in the spirit of “No Sugarcoating” – transparently informing about the market and talent availability.
This approach allowed us to maintain high quality recommendations despite the shift in technological priorities. As a result, the process was not only effective, but also fully synchronized with the real needs of the product team.
Results: fast and effective IT recruitment supporting the growth of Duco’s tech hub in Wrocław
Thanks to a precisely planned process and a flexible approach to evolving project requirements, both recruitments were carried out smoothly and effectively. The result was not only the swift closure of key roles, but genuine support for the growth pace of the Wrocław hub.
Office Manager
- 2 candidates presented within the first week
- Time-to-hire: just over 2 weeks from kickoff to signed contract
The swift closure of the role allowed Duco to stabilize the operational functioning of the office and strengthen the local team.
Senior Fullstack Developer
- 8 high-quality recommendations
- 2 offers extended
- 1 hired developer who strengthened the backend team
Flexibility in redefining the technical profile and rapidly adapting the sourcing strategy to the current product needs proved to be of key importance.
Summary
The Duco project demonstrates that effective recruitment is not just about delivering CVs, but providing strategic support in moments of change.
Thanks to swift action, high-quality recommendations and a flexible approach to technical requirements, we were able to genuinely accelerate the growth of the tech hub in Wrocław.
